The role of social worker in an educational care center.
VALIČEK, Jiří
ABSTRAKT This bachelor thesis focuses on the current state of the Educational Care Centre and the role of social worker in the Educational Care Centre. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the area of ethopedics, the current state in the Educational Care Centre in terms of structure, form of care, collaboration with other institutions and it further focuses on the social worker´s role in the Educational Care Centre, especially on legislation, expertness and ethics code, competencies and personal skills for social work. The practical part deals with qualitative research. The research is focused on position of social worker and his activities within the framework of his actions in the Educational Care Centre. The main aim of my bachelor thesis is "Assess the scope of activities of social worker in the functioning of Educational Care Centre." The specific aims are these: determine the questions that will lead to an answer to my main aim and then answer them by using semi-structured inerviews with social workers. The aim of these semi-structured interviews will be to secure the widest possible range of activities that a social worker carries out, referring to his role in the Educational Care Centres. In order to grasp the analysis in more detail, I chose two research questions that will map "What activities provided by a social worker are according to him the most acceptable by clients of the Educational Care Centre" and "How does the idea of a social worker's role transforms within the framework of his actions in the Educational Care Centre." Based on the analysis I did I chose a qualitative research as an investigation strategy. Qualitative research is based on a gathering of very detailed information based on which then creates deductive and inductive conclusions to be verified. Based on semi-structured interviews I managed to achieve and fulfill my aims. Among the most important findings is the role of the social worker and his influence on his further development.

Kučerová, Anděla ; Vítečková, Michaela (advisor) ; Krykorková, Hana (referee)
The thesis focuses on the activity of an educational care centre as an institution which provides services for children who show negative signs in their behaviours and prone to develop behavioural disorders, as well as for their families. The centre also offers help to clients of a children and youth curator, whose role, as part of providing social and legal protection, is mentioned in the first chapter. In addition, attention is given to basic principles of a multidisciplinary cooperation and rehabilitation of a family. Another part describes the activity of the centre, an organisation providing preventive educational care for clients, and specific services of the centre. In the practical part the centre activity is portrayed by children and youth curators. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate the benefits of the educational care centre from the point of view of an OSPOD (a government body for social and legal protection of children) employee and asses what opportunities the centre offers when preventing institutional care and as part of rehabilitation of a family with a child who has behavioural issues.
Educational Care Centre: Importance and possibilities of cooperation with the family and institutions supporting the stabilization and family functioning
NEBŘENSKÁ, Vendula
In my thesis, I focused on the importance and possibilities of cooperation educational care centers and family. The result of my work is the evaluation of the cooperation between educational care center and families and to identify the limits of this cooperation. Marginally I also gained insight into the family cooperation with non-profit organizations, which are an important part of helping children with behavioral disorders. The theoretical part consists of three major entities that play a vital role in the area of behavioral disorders in children. Firstly, children with behavioral disorders are the first entity. In the first part I have tried thus shed light on the developmental aspects of adolescence and to identify the typical manifestations of this age. Also, I didn´t forget to identify specific behavioral disorders of children. The parents of these children are equally important because they take a primary role in education. I defined characteristic, basic aspects and functions of the family with these children and I described the classic characters of the family in modern times. And last but not least, I have dealt with a center of educational care - which is involved in the prevention of behavioral disturbance. This section will be interesting especially for those who don´t know this institution and have no awareness of its work. The empirical part presents the results of qualitative research, within which we addressed five employees educational care center in Domažlice and thirty parents of children with behavioral disorders. The interview provided me valuable information and insight into the issue with their particular experience with the boarding stay of their child in SVP Domažlice. I wanted to emphasize the importance of cooperation through the choice of this topic and thanks to this job I can say that I have reaffirmed this fact. The results of research will make available to SVP Domažlice, thanks to which research could be carried out.
Forms and level of collaboration of the basic schools with centres education care by prevention social patologic effects
SÁDOVSKÁ, Petra
This Bachelor{\crq}s thesis deals with the forms and the level of cooperation between primary schools (PS) and educational care centres (ECC) in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena. In the theoretical part I dealt with PS and the prevention programme that is progress here, school-age children as well as factors influencing the possibility that a socially pathological phenomenon, such as the personality, its development and socialisation, and the family, comes into being. I have further described the activity of ECC and the possibilities of their cooperation with PS, and finally, chosen pathological phenomena. The objective of this thesis was to survey the cooperation between PS and ECC in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena, its forms and level. The survey was conducted in the South Bohemian and Pardubice Regions. Further, it focused on comparing the regions surveyed and finding out whether the cooperation was sufficient. The objective laid down was achieved. To achieve this in the practical part, I used quantitative research, questioning method, questionnaire survey technique and controlled discussion. With this objective laid down as the basis, I set up two hypotheses. The first hypothesis: "More than a half of the primary schools questioned cooperate with the educational care centres in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena" was not confirmed. 44 per cent of primary schools cooperate with the educational care centres in the South Bohemian Region, and only 29 per cent in the Pardubice Region. However, it was found out that most of the not cooperating schools are country schools, which made up the majority in my research in both regions, and that is why the first hypothesis was not confirmed. The other hypothesis: "The number of educational care centres is not sufficient in neither of the regions surveyed, to cover the prevention of socially pathological phenomena in all primary schools in the localities mentioned" was confirmed by the evidence given by the staffs of both ECC and PS. The research has revealed that the cooperation between primary schools and ECC in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena is insufficient in both regions surveyed, and the situation is worse in the Pardubice Region than in the South Bohemian Region. To solve this problem, I propose that the number of the ECC and qualified staff members should be increased and its services should have a higher quality promotion. The thesis and its results may be used for the information of the professional and non-professional public and as a basis for further work and research focusing on prevention at PS.
